Q: How do I sign up?
A: Visit the “Sign Up” tab to register.  We will ask for some basic information as well as a credit/debit card.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.  Shortly after registering, you will receive your personalized bags and be all set to begin using the service.  Moving forward, your billing cycle will be based on the date you register.  

Q: How do I pay?
A: When you register, you will be asked for your credit card information.  This card is kept securely on file and will be charged automatically (unless you cancel service) once your trial expires (when applicable) or if you request special services not included in the scope of your membership (such as repairs and alterations).  In addition, if you exceed your monthly allotment for hanged & pressed garments in a given trial period or billing cycle, you will be billed for all overages on the last day of that cycle.  All of your account information is available online by logging in and selecting "account management."  For a la carte members, you will be charged per order you submit.  

Q: How does the free trial work?
A: Those interested in using the free trial register online, providing both the relevant personal and payment information.  If, after the trial period expires, you wish to continue using the service, there is no need to do anything further.  We will begin charging the credit card on file each month.  If, on the other hand, you do not wish to continue using the service, please  log into your account and select "cancel membership."  You may also sent an email to:   to let us know.  You will NOT be charged for the following month so long as you cancel the service before your trial expires and you do not send your clothing for processing after the trial has ended. 

Q: How do I know how much dry cleaning credit I have remaining on my account? 

A: You can access this information by logging into your account and select "account management." This information is also included in your automated delivery notification.   

Q: What if I exceed my monthly credit amount for dry cleaning? 

A: We will charge your credit card on file for the overages at the end of your billing cycle. The same rate per garment will be used on the overage that is applied to your regular submissions.  Please see the price list section of the site for more details on our rates.  

Q: Why do I see an authorization of $.01 on my credit card for Urban Hanger?
A: In order to validate your credit card entered at registration, we do a test transaction for $.01. This amount does not get actually get charged to your card and will be voided shortly. 

Q: Do I have to sign up for a fixed time period or can I go month-to-month?
A: For Residential customers in Apartments & Condominium Buildings, all subscriptions are month-to-month.  At Colleges & Universities, we offer plans for the entire academic year.  Our hope is that by offering the free trial, you are able to get a good indication as to whether our service is right for you. 

Q: How do I cancel?
A: Simply log into your account and select "cancel membership".  If you prefer, you may also send an email to explaining that you would like to terminate service. We will cease charging your credit card in the following months.  If you cancel mid-cycle, we do not issue partial refunds, so your cancellation will not take effect until the end of your current billing period.  During the remainder of the cycle in which you place your cancellation request, you are of course free to continue using the service.  Any overages you accrue will be charged on the last day of your billing period. 

Q: What do I do with my bag(s) once I am no longer subscribing to the service?
A: We ask that once you have canceled and are no longer using the service, please drop off your empty bags and key tags to the designated drop-off location in your building.   Those who do not return their bags within seven days following the conclusion of their final cycle of service will be charged a $15 fee per bag and $10 fee per key tag.  

Q: How does Urban Hanger protect my credit card information?
A: Urban Hanger takes the utmost precaution in keeping your information safe.  As such, we do not actually ever view or store your credit card information on our server. We partner with, a leader in payment gateway solutions who stores all of your information on their highly secured encrypted database.  We use Starfield Technology, an industry leader in SSL-certificates to ensure that the connection between our site and is secure.
